Charles in London

Hi Room 1
Well I've arrived in London, just in time for the Queen's Diamond Jubilee celebrations.  Not had the chance to take any photographs yet though because the weather is so terrible.  Boy, can it rain in England!
I'll post some pics very soon.

and who is this...?

Can you guess who this is?
It's been huge over here! And most french people really like this guy - who is he and what does he stand for?

Houses...

Bonjour!
Here is a typical Parisienne house - lots of little windows and balconies and wrought iron balustrades. Look at the interesting roof line too and all the chimney pots! Years ago almost every room had its own fireplace, but then the French government stopped this because of the smoke emissions problem - so most of them don 't get used any more.

Out for lunch...

George Pompidou Centre

Bonjour!
Today I am at the George Pompidou Centre - a museum of Modern Art. It's a great structure. All it's exterior is exposed and it has an external escalator so you can see Paris as you ride up it, to the top floor!
